Collingham Gardens Nursery Group - Grant aided by Camden Grants Unit |
|||
We are members of the Pre School Learning Alliance and follow their good practice with support from the Camden Early Years Advisors. we are housed in a building designed and constructed by Save the Children set in a walled garden (Collingham Gardens) next to St Georges Park. This green space is an important part of our children's curriculum. With the support of parents, children and students, we have transformed this space into an Ecological garden, growing herbs, fruit bushes and trees - growing vegetables and eating our produce. We gained status as a nursery in 1980 but have been open as a children's project since 1964. We offer good quality play and educational facilities and provide a high level of supervision. Five qualified members of staff, 2/3 students that is an impressive adult/child ratio. Through our policies and procedures and resources we aim to encourage positive self esteem and an awareness of the rich and varied background of our children and their families. We continually evaluate and monitor our work practice and children's development through key group practice, inspection by Government Education Ofsted inspectors (view our Ofsted Report) and Camden Early Years Education Advisors maintaining a high level of achievement and outcomes for our children, many achieving beyond the required levels.
